Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The position will operate under a dual reporting structure wherein, the employee will report to the Director of Undergraduate Admissions and the Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management. This position will maintain oversight for the CRM software. This employee will need a strong understanding of how to create targeted communication for specific audiences and media. This employee will serve as a primary content editor in addition to creating content for projects and publications. Other duties as assigned.
Primary Purpose of Position
The primary purpose of this position is to collaborate with internal and external partners to: Advance and protect the institutional identity and reputation; Reinforce and grow NCCU's brand in graphics, images, and words; Increase NCCU's visibility in public and in the higher education marketplace; Support NCCU's relevance and value to key audiences, including prospective students, parents, alumni, faculty and staff members, and encourage community engagement.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The successful candidate must possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel) Applications; knowledge of office and records management or administration; knowledge of writing guidelines for various media and to create unique copy for each format (print, online and social media); knowledge of conceptualize, write and edit strategic, accurate and concise content for varying audiences; ability to work independently with little or no supervision; to take initiative to see projects and assignments through to completion; to learn, interpret and analyze information to make necessary decisions; to exercise judgment and discretion in problem solving; to plan, prioritize and organize workflow; ability to work flexible schedules; excellent analytical and organizational skills along with written and oral communication skills, excellent editing; great interpersonal skills to interact effectively and diplomatically with a wide range of individuals in a high pressure environment.
Minimum Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
