About the Role

As a Structural Engineer you will:

  • Lead and assist in the analysis, design, and review of various building, bridge, waterfront, and other industrial structures, including:
    • Vehicle and pedestrian bridges
    • Gangways and trestles
    • Marine terminals, docks, harbors, and marinas
    • Buildings constructed of wood, steel, concrete and masonry
    • Towers for communication infrastructure and other unique purposes
  • Oversee the preparation of detailed construction drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Conduct and manage inspections and condition assessments of existing structures, producing thorough technical reports with actionable recommendations.
  • Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on complex projects, including site-civil design, surveying, geotechnical engineering, and permitting, as well as outside architectural and mechanical/electrical/plumbing firms.
  • Contribute to project management, client communication, and proposal preparation to support business development.


Qualifications

We are seeking candidates with:

  • A bachelor of science degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis from an ABET-accredited institution (M.S. preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
  • At least 4 years of experience in structural analysis and design, ideally with buildings and/or waterfront structures.
  • Proficiency with structural analysis software (e.g., RISA 3D, SAP) and AutoCAD. Revit experience a plus.
  • A strong understanding of structural loads, load paths, relevant design codes/standards, and construction practices.
  • Experience with structural steel, concrete, wood, and masonry design.
  • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.
  • A collaborative approach to project work and a desire to mentor junior team members.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for fieldwork and client meetings.
  • A valid U.S. drivers license, a good driving record, and vehicle insurance.
  • Permanent authorization to work in the United States without need for employer sponsorship.
