Job description

Sr. Project Manager

The Sr. Project Manager will be a member of Portfolio Delivery and Controls, managing a wide variety of technology and other programs and projects within Amtrak. The Sr. PM will utilize prior project management experience to manage project schedule, budget, and scope. S/he will track and mitigate project risks and issues, and adhere to ENEC change management, configuration management, and quality management best practices.

Special Skillset (optional) - Bachelors’ degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Network Security, or an equivalent combination of work experience, training, and education. At least ten years’ experience and significant hands-on program and/or project management experience from initiation to implementation using formal project management methodologies and processes. Demonstrated ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a diverse group of subject matter experts. Demonstrated ability to communicate and tailor messaging to receiving audience. Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously. Prior experience managing and publishing weekly/monthly status reports of activities, accomplishments, issues, and key decisions. Prior experience forecasting budget and schedule changes and working with leadership to stay within defined parameters or rebaseline project. PMP Certified. ITIL v4 Certified a plus. Prior experience working at Amtrak, in transportation, or military a plus.
