PLYWOOD ASSEMBLY

GENERAL PURPOSE

The Plywood Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling plywood components and subassemblies used in furniture manufacturing. This role focuses on producing high-quality products by following standardized work instructions, meeting production goals, and ensuring all assemblies meet company quality and safety standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Assemble plywood components and subassemblies according to work instructions and production requirements.

Align, fit, and secure plywood panels using adhesives, fasteners, and hand or power tools.

Operate basic assembly tools such as nail guns, screwdrivers, clamps, and glue applicators.

Inspect materials and completed assemblies to ensure quality standards are met, including proper alignment and secure fastening.

Identify and report defects, damaged materials, or quality issues to appropriate team members.

Maintain a consistent production pace to meet customer demand and daily output goals.

Follow standardized work instructions and processes to ensure efficiency and consistency.

Practice safe work habits and comply with all company safety policies and procedures.

Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety and efficiency.

Work collaboratively with team members to meet production targets and resolve issues.

Cross-train in additional assembly functions as required to support production needs.

Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience

One of the following is required: (1) High school diploma or its equivalent (GED for example), (2) work experience which demonstrates performance competency

Skills and Abilities

Competent in basic math skills such as counting, adding, and subtracting.

Ability to work cooperatively within the team as well as with members of other teams to meet goals.

Demonstrated willingness to adapt to a continually changing environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms for the duration of the shift.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Pay Details: $19.26 per hour
