Job description

Role: Playwright Automation Engineer
Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid - 3 days office in a week)
Job Description:
Responsibilities
  1. Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright.
  2. Create scalable and reusable automation frameworks for web, mobile-web, and cross-browser testing.
  3. Develop end-to-end, regression, smoke, functional, integration, and compatibility test suites.
  4. Automate testing across Chromium, Firefox, and WebKit browsers.
  5. Implement robust locators, page object models, test data management, and reusable test utilities.
  6. Integrate Playwright automation suites with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI.
  7. Perform API testing and validate REST services using Playwright APIRequest or related tools.
  8. Analyze test failures, investigate defects, and collaborate with developers to resolve issues.
  9. Generate test reports, maintain automation metrics, and support continuous improvement of testing processes.
  10. Participate in requirement analysis, test planning, code reviews, Agile ceremonies, and production-quality validation.

Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  2. 8+ years of experience in software testing and test automation.
  3. 2+ years of hands-on experience with Playwright automation.
  4. Strong programming experience in JavaScript or TypeScript; knowledge of Java, Python, or C# is an advantage.
  5. Experience building and maintaining automation frameworks using Playwright Test or equivalent frameworks.
  6. Strong understanding of web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, DOM, JSON, and HTTP protocols.
  7. Experience with Page Object Model, data-driven testing, behavior-driven testing, and reusable automation components.
  8. Hands-on experience with API testing, request validation, authentication, and response verification.
  9. Experience with Git, CI/CD tools, test reporting, defect management, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  10. Strong knowledge of software testing concepts, defect lifecycle, test planning, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
