Software Development Engineer in Test II
12-month Contract role
Location: San Mateo, CA - Hybrid

At PlayStation, we are looking for engineers to join a global initiative in building innovative test automation and CI/CD systems. We are looking for self-motivated, quick-starter and highly proactive individuals to join our Client QA team, who would be responsible for ensuring delivery of features on PlayStation's Mobile App!

Primary Responsibilities
  • Review product requirements and design documents to understand how the feature works on the PlayStation console and create effective testing strategies.
  • Plan and complete QA related activities for UI testing; build test plan, test cases, and implement to ensure the quality of new features.
  • Build, maintain and improve test automation frameworks, and help teams set up automation infrastructure.
  • Develop and implement standard methodologies for automation, continuous build and deploy, automated testing and end-to-end testing. Maintenance of the PS5 devices used in testing.
  • Passionate about Quality and strives to improve process, proposes best practices and drives their usage within the team.
  • Manage various Jenkins Jobs and report statuses
  • Work with Developers, Product Owners to ensure that all features and bug fixes come with automated test coverage
  • Assist with production deployment support and post release
  • Report, track and verify defects
Qualifications
  • Minimum BS degree in CS or a related field, or ability to demonstrate equivalent knowledge
  • Experience in building and executing test plans and test cases
  • Experience writing automated tests in Python, Java Script or any other Programming Language
  • Understanding of automation test framework like pytest
  • Experience in setting or configuring up test pipelines as part of Continuous Integration(CI), Jenkins preferred
  • Practical experience using development and deployment tools like Git, Jenkins, Appium
  • Experience with test case management systems & JIRA, QTest/QMetry systems
  • Ability to estimate effort and size of features
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. comfortable with cross functional collaboration
