Recreation Leader- Playgroup Facilitator
$25.00/hour
Monday-Friday 10-15 hours per week with playgroups on Fridays from 9-3 PM
The Playgroup Facilitator (Bilingual) is a part-time position in the Recreation Division. Under the guidance of the Recreation Program Coordinator, and in conjunction with a Co-Playgroup Facilitator, the Playgroup Facilitator (Bilingual) will create curriculum that is developmentally appropriate for infants, toddlers, and their caregivers for an 8-week cohort of participants. The Playgroup Facilitator (Bilingual) will also conduct learning assessments, coach parents on the best practices of child-caregiver interactions, facilitate play to enhance infant/toddler learning, and will create the schedule and structure for each session. The Playgroup Facilitator (Bilingual) will also set up and tear down the learning space before and after each playgroup day.
The Playgroup Facilitator (Bilingual) will also lead at least two field trip excursions during the summer to various locations across Sonoma County. They will be the point of contact and representative for the Town of Windsor while in the community with their excursion group. While on these excursions, the Playgroup Facilitator is responsible for addressing any needs or issues that arise.
Typical Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in ECE, CD, Psychology, Liberal Studies, or another related field is desired, as well as at least 3 units of ECE, but 12 units is preferred.
Fluency in Spanish is a requirement of this position.
