We are seeking a skilled and dependable Pet Groomer who can perform full grooming services independently and is looking to grow alongside a rapidly expanding pet care business.

Position Overview

The Pet Groomer is responsible for providing safe, high-quality grooming services while maintaining BarkPlace & Co.'s grooming standards and customer experience.

This position is ideal for a groomer who is confident performing full grooms independently and wants to focus on grooming while the business handles scheduling, client acquisition, and operational support.

Responsibilities

  • Perform full grooming services from start to finish

  • Complete breed-specific and pet trims as requested

  • Bathe, dry, brush, clip, scissor, and finish dogs professionally

  • Perform BarkPlace Bath services

  • Perform BarkPlace Tidy-Up services

  • Conduct nail trims, ear cleaning, sanitary trims, and paw pad trims

  • Review grooming instructions and communicate expectations with pet parents when needed

  • Monitor dogs for health, skin, coat, or behavioral concerns and communicate observations appropriately

  • Maintain accurate grooming notes and client preferences

  • Ensure a safe, calm, and positive grooming experience for every dog

Facility & Equipment Standards

  • Maintain a clean and organized grooming station

  • Sanitize grooming tools and equipment between appointments

  • Follow all safety and sanitation procedures

  • Assist with grooming-area upkeep, laundry, and grooming preparation during slower periods

Qualifications

  • Professional dog grooming experience required

  • Ability to independently complete full grooms required

  • Strong dog handling skills

  • Knowledge of canine coat types and grooming techniques

  • Ability to safely groom dogs of varying breeds, sizes, and temperaments

  • Reliable, punctual, and professional

  • Positive attitude and strong attention to detail

  • Commitment to quality workmanship and client satisfaction

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods

  • Ability to lift and safely handle dogs up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to perform repetitive grooming tasks throughout the day
