Energy Projects Engineer (CAaaSยฎ Program)

Location: Jacksonville, Florida

Job Type: Full-Time, On-Site (Mondayโ€“Friday)

Climeaction is recruiting an experienced Energy Projects Engineer to join our U.S. team and deliver our Climate Action as a Service (CAaaSยฎ) program on-site at a leading medical device manufacturing facility in Jacksonville, Florida. This is a handsโ€‘on, embedded engineering role focused on improving energy performance, reducing utility costs, and driving decarbonization across critical utility systems.

What Youโ€™ll Do
  • Lead energy performance improvement activities across major utilities, including HVAC, chillers, boilers, compressed air, steam, hot water, and other significant energy-using systems.
  • Conduct system assessments, identify engineering opportunities, and develop practical, evidence-based improvement recommendations.
  • Perform detailed energy data analysis, including baselining, trending, and project impact verification.
  • Support project executionโ€”scoping, technical review, vendor coordination, commissioning support, and performance validation.
  • Work closely with the clientโ€™s engineering and facilities teams while collaborating with Climeactionโ€™s wider technical experts.
  • Contribute to ISO 50001โ€‘style structured energy management activities and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and help prepare submissions for utility rebates and incentive programs.
  • Prepare clear, concise reports and updates for client stakeholders.
What You Bring
  • 5+ years of relevant engineering experience within industrial, commercial, or manufacturing facilities.
  • Strong technical expertise in HVAC, chillers, boilers, compressed air, and other major utilities.
  • Experience with operational performance, troubleshooting, energy audits, or system optimization.
  • Competence in energy and utility data analysis.
  • Experience with ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems and/or structured energy programs (advantageous).
  • Understanding of utility rebate programs and energy incentives (advantageous).
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Energy, or a related Engineering discipline (required).
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a clientโ€‘facing environment.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to other client sites.
