JOB OVERVIEW

The Plating Technician must handle engine parts to ensure there is no damage to the parts during the plating process. The Plating Technician will have to follow the instructions in the repair to include where to mask and how to fixture the part to have a successful outcome of the plating process. The Plating Technician will first inspect the part to make sure it is run ready for the plating process, and they will complete a final inspection after the plating process.


Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for maintaining equipment related to the area. 
  • Read and comply with work instructions. 
  • Write technical and accurate reports as needed. 
  • Work independently of others as well as in teams. 
  • Accurately complete work orders. 
  • Read and understand Commercial, FAA, EASA, Repair Station, and ISOdocumentation. 
  • Possess proper tools. 
  • Understand and practice safe and efficient productive use of tools. 
  • Immediately report to anysupervisor forany safety, quality, or unethical actions or conditions perceived to exist for immediate evaluation and resolution. 
  • To successfully blast parts using the plastic media and aluminum oxide blast cabinets. 
  • Performs a visual inspection on the part to determine whether the part needs additional preparation before the masking step. Will ask a senior operator or lead for advice before continuing, if unsurewhether or notthe part should move to thenext processstep. 
  • Workwith chemistry and equipment to facilitate the plating process. 
  • Adhere to all safety practices. 
  • Assist in training and development needs 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by any supervisor in a professional manner   

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent. 
  • Read and adhere to verbal and written instructions. 
  • Make basic decisions and work with deadlines while understanding pressure. 
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S 
  • Must be fluent in English (written and verbal) 
  • Relevant plating experience is preferred 
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Quantum preferred 
  • Organizational skills 

Job Demands:

Work is performed in a Shop environment and requires the ability to perform extensive standing, driving, walking, and climbing; to lift up to 50lbs. regularly; to manipulate up to 100lbs. with assistance. Must be able to bend, stoop, climb to reach materials, and work in a noisy environment.
