Job Duties and Responsibilities
Candidates must be willing to participate in at least one in-person interview, which may include a live whiteboarding or technical assessment session.
This role addresses the challenge of scaling and securing enterprise-grade AI infrastructure within a complex, high-demand cloud environment. Success involves bridging the gap between raw data capabilities and actionable AI insights through the implementation of resilient automation and robust governance frameworks. By solving for platform reliability and self-service efficiency, this engineer ensures that data scientists and developers can deploy innovative solutions without infrastructure bottlenecks.
What Success Looks Like (Objectives)
  • Provision scalable and secure Databricks workspaces through sophisticated Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) and automated deployment bundles
  • Standardize the adoption of Unity Catalog to ensure all data assets are classified, tagged, and governed according to strict security standards
  • Integrate AI agents effectively through the implementation and maintenance of Model Context Protocol (MCP) server frameworks
  • Support high platform uptime and rapid service restoration by participating in proactive monitoring, root cause analysis, and incident response protocols
  • Contribute to cost-saving initiatives by enforcing cluster policies and executing resource management tasks
  • Accelerate team onboarding and minimize manual intervention by developing intuitive self-service tooling and robust CI/CD pipelines

Skills, Experience and Requirements
Core Skills and Competencies (What you'll bring)
  • Critical experiences in administering production-scale Databricks environments and engineering cloud-native infrastructure
  • Proficiency in AI Literacy, specifically regarding the integration of AI agent frameworks and large-scale ML platform support
  • Practical experience in enterprise data governance, metadata management, and access control strategies within a Lakehouse architecture
  • Strong proficiency in automation using Python, Bash, and modern CI/CD tooling to drive engineering excellence
  • Collaborative spirit with the ability to mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance on platform best practices
  • Adaptive problem-solving skills required to navigate complex distributed systems and maintain performance in regulated environments

Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum Experience: 3 years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Cloud Operations
  • Required Technical Skills: * Databricks administration and operation in production environments
    • Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform
    • Cloud platform services (AWS S3, IAM, VPC)
    • Python or Bash scripting for automation

Compensation: $100,980.00/Year - $136,625.00/Year
