Position Summary: The Plastics Engineer (Plastic Injection Molding) will support manufacturing operations by developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting injection molding processes to ensure consistent product quality and efficiency. This role is responsible for designing and implementing process improvements, supporting new product launches, collaborating with cross-functional teams on tooling and material selection, and providing technical expertise to reduce scrap, improve cycle times, and enhance overall production performance.
Essential Functions:
  • Develop, document and optimize injection molding processes for new and existing products
  • Work with customers on tooling changes, customer part specifications, validation protocols, CAPA implementation
  • Implement, lead manufacturing initiatives to reduce waste and increase efficiency, train and mentor techs and operators
  • Monitor production performance metrics and drive continuous improvement including automation with robotic initiatives
  • Troubleshoot molding issues (flash, short shots, burn marks, warp etc) and recommend corrective actions
  • Coordinating sampling new products, PPAP's, Manufacturing and Quality

:Required Experience:
  • Experience with injection molding processing, tooling and quality systems (ISO 9001, 13485, 1ATF)
  • Customer communication, critical thinking skills, problem solving skills and root cause analysis
  • Strong understanding of thermoplastics, mold design, and injection molding equipment, robotics and automation
