Job Description
At Syngenta, our goal is to build the most collaborative and trustworthy team in agriculture, providing top-quality seeds and innovative crop protection solutions that improve farmers' success. To support this mission, Syngenta's Production & Supply Team is looking for a Planning Team Lead. This position will oversee plant planning, asset and vendor scheduling, import/export coordination, and site logistics at the Syngenta facility in South Carolina.
The role guarantees reliable supply and efficient operations while aligning with global Production & Supply standards by managing planning activities, supporting new product launches, ensuring operational readiness, and facilitating the integration of systems, processes, and organizational changes needed to grow the biologicals portfolio.
Accountabilities:
  • Oversee Orangeburg plant planning, asset and vendor scheduling, import/export coordination, and plant logistics, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient execution through standardized processes, SAP-based production scheduling, accurate master data (BOMs, routings, work centers), variance analysis, and effective support of new product introductions, while maintaining alignment with the global Valagro Production & Supply organization on volume splits, destination requirements, and premix flows managed from Italy.
  • Provide leadership and governance for planning processes, production scheduling, new product introductions, and alignment with global supply planning to enable efficient and scalable Orangeburg site operations.
  • Ensure the reliable supply of biological products by driving effective planning, coordination, and execution across supply chain stakeholders.
  • Drive the S4 HANA integration by sustaining Syngenta Biologicals processes and systems, evaluating business processes and Production & Supply resourcing needs, and preparing the plant through relevant training.
  • Development and implementation of the team's Target Operating Model to support increasing Orangeburg production volumes and evolving business needs.
  • Drive operational readiness and continuous improvement initiatives to support the successful growth of the Biologicals portfolio.

Qualifications
Required:
  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering is preferred, or relevant experience. Subject Matter Expert in nSAP/gSAP/SAP4-related functions.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in production planning, supply chain coordination, plant operations, or related manufacturing support functions.
  • Ability to work in an environment of high customer delivery expectations, a high level of manufacturing execution, and a high level of change.
  • Sales & Operations (S&OP), inventory management, and Customer Service process understanding.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to work in Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.
  • Knowledge or familiarity with Syngenta or Agricultural Industry products and the regional market.

Desired:
  • Ability to integrate Syngenta Biologicals Production & Supply-related processes into Crop Protection.
  • Ability to contribute to Legal Entity Transfer and Legal Entity Merger of Valagro activities.
  • Ability to build an operational model for current and future biological products.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with different groups, both inside and outside of the Syngenta organization.
  • Ability to demonstrate strategic and tactical thinking by turning long-term objectives into practical plans, priorities, and daily decisions that support performance, supply reliability, and continuous improvement.
