Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Strategic Planning Manager - Level 1, to join the Space sector Strategic Planning organization, reporting to the Senior Director of Strategic Planning. This role can be located at any of the following space sector locations: McLean VA; Chandler AZ; Redondo Beach CA; Linthicum MD; or Dulles VA.

Role and Impact:

The selected applicant will become a trusted member of a team responsible for leading strategy and associated efforts including:

Strategic Planning and Assessment:

  • Formulating strategies for NG Space Divisions by identifying internal and external strategic factors that could impact growth and market. Includes prioritizing market segments, mission areas, and ensuring alignment with the overall Sector strategy.
  • Analyzing and synthesizing data and insights regarding addressable market and customer budgets, competitor trends, key strategic issues, and other core strategic planning needs.
  • Supporting development of the financial Annual Operating Plan.
  • Plan and coordinate business reviews, resource allocations, and financial/nonfinancial strategic objectives.

Investment Management:

  • Supporting multi-year investment planning, partnering with Strategy, Business Management, Program teams, and the Chief Technology office.
  • Developing Division-specific investment recommendations to align to overall Sector strategy and investment guidance.
  • Managing R&D investment execution including performance against targets and goals, planned reporting, etc.
  • Supporting new development of tools to track, manage, and report on investment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant professional experience in strategic assessment, strategy development, and financial analysis - OR - Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant professional experience in strategic assessment, strategy development, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent executive communication and presentation skills with the ability to distill complex data into actionable insights for executives and senior stakeholders.
  • Experience and knowledge of space industry trends, dynamics, and characteristics.
  • Requires an active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience in aerospace and defense strategic planning, portfolio development, and strategic assessment.
  • Experience in strategic planning in the Space industry.
  • Active Top-Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance at time of application.

Primary Level Salary Range: $104,500.00 - $181,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
