Job description

Overview

We're looking for a Project Manager to join our Technology Systems team at Egan! In this role, you'll serve as the primary driver of project success, providing comprehensive management and leadership across multiple small to large-scale Technology Systems projects simultaneously. In this role, you are ultimately accountable for the financial health, profitability, and operational success of each project, ensuring that every engagement is delivered in alignment with Egans Milestone Based Delivery (MBD) standards.

You will lead cross-functional teams, navigate complex operational challenges, and foster deep internal
partnerships, transforming technical requirements into seamless, high-value outcomes for our clients. By
balancing rigorous financial oversight with a commitment to "People Smart" leadership, you will serve as
a bridge between the field and the office, continuously driving the team toward Egans Mission, Vision,
and Values while building the leadership maturity necessary for long-term growth within the company.

Responsibilities

Project Management & Lifecycle Execution

  • Project Setup & Planning: Assist the project team in planning, setting up, and managing construction projects from kickoff to closeout.
  • MBD Compliance: Expertly navigate and utilize Egans proprietary Project Management systems, specifically adhering to the Milestone Based Delivery (MBD) framework.
  • Document Control: Conduct thorough construction document analysis to develop clear, consistent interpretations. Oversee the accurate generation and updating of As-Built documents.
  • Scale Leadership: Competently manage small-to-large-sized projects, assuming primary leadership responsibilities for each assigned task.
  • Resource Coordination: Assist in conducting effective pre-planning meetings and maximize resources during the buyout process to support efficient shop/field performance.

Financial & Administrative Management

  • Project Documentation: Prepare and process day-to-day administrative items including supply requisitions, RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings.
  • Cost Management: Prepare billings, job cost forecasts, change orders, and change request pricing using our ERP System and Google Suite.
  • Profitability: Manage all financial aspects of contracts (costs, billings, and collections) to maintain profitability goals and positive cash flow while ensuring positive client relationships.
  • Procurement: Purchase and schedule the delivery of equipment and materials; conduct an analysis of alternatives when needed to maintain project budget and schedule.

Field Operations & Collaboration

  • Problem Solving: Actively advise Project Management of potential problems, work
    interferences, and schedule difficulties. Proactively learn how to circumvent or resolve these
    issues.
  • Field Liaison: Visit job sites and customer sites as required. Build and maintain strong
    relationships with field personnel, respecting the diversity of opinions and trade expertise on-site.
  • Field Safety Visits: Visit with Field Colleagues and work with them to make Safety a top priority for the organization.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in project coordination and owner/architect/engineer
    meetings. Actively pursue additional work through change orders and resolution of design
    issues.
  • Internal Partnership: Serve as a "Knowledge Ambassador." Work collaboratively with other
    Egan groups to support the company mission and break down organizational silos.

  • Risk Management: Investigate potentially serious situations; implement corrective measures
    promptly and effectively.
  • Safety Culture: Promote a positive safety culture by ensuring Egans safety policies and goals
    are communicated, understood, and followed on all assigned projects.
  • Continuous Learning: Assume a proactive approach to career development. Utilize internal
    resources, participate in "Team Egan" initiatives, and request alternative instruction to
    accelerate your professional growth.
Requirements
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in the construction, limited energy, or electrical/HVAC
    industry OR completion of a 2-year construction education program.
  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints, technical
    specifications, and project schedules.
  • Compliance: Must obtain OSHA-30 certification within six (6) months of hire (if not already
    certified).
  • Licensing: Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
Qualifications
  • Functional Expertise: Solid understanding of business development, preconstruction, construction means and methods, project planning, scheduling, cost reporting, and budgeting.
  • Software Excellence: Proficiency in Google Suite and/or MS Office. Experience with ERP systems with an "attitude of we can do that" regarding system integration.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills. Ability to articulate complex project information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Adaptability: Anticipates and adjusts to changing priorities, site conditions, and methods. Willingness to take on new tasks and challenges with a positive attitude.
  • Accountability: Maintains a reputation for being approachable, respectful, personally accountable, and easy to work with.
Working Conditions
  • Performance of duties will be in the office, at customer sites, and job sites as needed.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Exposure to loud noise, dirt, and exposure to the elements are to be expected on job sites.
  • Climbing ladders/stairs, uneven ground, bending, kneeling, and twisting are to be expected on job sites.

Salary Range: $73,440-$91,800 (subject to such factors as experience, education, and/or skill set) plus potential annual discretionary bonus. This position is eligible for an auto allowance and gas card.

Hybrid: This role is eligible for our hybrid work model. To ensure a strong start, we ask for approximately six months in the office at the start to wrap your arms around the role, build essential in-person connections, and gain the organizational knowledge needed for success before transitioning to our hybrid schedule.
