What You’ll Do
As a Manufacturing Planner – Machine Shop, you’ll be responsible for planning and scheduling machine shop resources to support production requirements, project timelines, and inventory objectives. You’ll work closely with machine shop leadership, supply chain, operations, project management, and sales teams to ensure efficient execution of production schedules while driving continuous improvement.


In this role, you will:

  • Develop and maintain production schedules for machine shop resources, both internal and external, to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime
  • Create, schedule, and release production orders to support customer orders, projects, and inventory replenishment requirements
  • Evaluate raw material availability, equipment capacity, and production priorities before releasing work orders
  • Develop weekly production schedules by machine and priority level in coordination with machine shop leadership
  • Create new manufacturing routes and update existing routes, BOMs, pick lists, and process times within ERP systems
  • Monitor production status and communicate schedule updates, delays, and issues to stakeholders
  • Reschedule production activities to address disruptions, quality concerns, design changes, and resource constraints
  • Maintain awareness of internal and external lead times, backlogs, and production capacity
  • Provide lead-time estimates and schedule commitments to sales and project management teams
  • Facilitate regular meetings with operations, project management, sales, and machine shop leadership regarding schedules, backlog, lead times, and production performance
  • Analyze production data and identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce costs, and optimize workflows
  • Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives including Kaizen events, 5S, Rapid Improvement Events (RIEs), and continuous improvement activities
  • Represent ENTEK professionally when interacting with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
Requirements: What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a detail-oriented planning professional with strong analytical skills, manufacturing knowledge, and the ability to coordinate multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.


Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in production planning and scheduling of manufactured components
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints
  • Strong Excel skills, including working with formulas and production data
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively coordinate activities across multiple departments
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a machine shop, fabrication, or industrial manufacturing environments
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems, routing development, and BOM management
  • Knowledge of machining processes, manufacturing workflows, and production planning methodologies
  • Experience supporting Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives


Your Work Schedule

This is a full-time, exempt position working Monday through Friday, day shift.
