Job description

Summary/Objective
The Associate Financial Planner Interns will report to Financial Planners, as well as the Partners in charge of Associate Financial Planners. The Associate Financial Planner Intern is responsible for directly supporting the Financial Planner with all aspects of the client relationship with CWA and implementation of the client's financial plan, which include management of both internal and external workflows.
Essential Functions
  1. Prepare and update all consult files for each client's annual meeting
  1. Assist the Financial Planner with planning opportunities for the client
  1. Assist the Financial Planner and client on implementation items from consult or as needed
  1. Promptly respond to client questions through email and phone calls
  1. Review of annual income tax returns and complete year-end tax projections

Responsibilities and Duties
  1. Financial analysis and tax planning for each business unit that the client owns
  1. Participation with the Financial Planner during annual client meetings
  1. Reconciliation of each client's current investment asset allocation
  1. Retirement plan analysis and optimization based on annual objectives of each client
  1. Correspond with internal departments as well as outside vendors to assist the client in implementation of their financial plan

Education and Experience
  • Individual working towards a bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Tax, or related field
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on MS Excel

Travel
No travel is expected for this position.
Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing may be required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time internship position. The internship program is a structured 10-week experience that begins on Monday, June 7, 2027, and concludes on Friday, August 13, 2027. Interns are expected to be available for the full duration of the program. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Some flexibility in hours may be allowed based on management approval.
