Job description

Piping Superintendent

The successful candidate will hold a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing the daily field operations of piping systems installation, fabrication, and testing. They will act as the bridge between project management and the field, ensuring that all piping work is executed safely, on schedule, and in strict accordance with technical specifications and quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:

• Field Leadership: Direct and supervise pipefitters, welders, and subcontractors. Manage labor productivity and ensure the right resources are assigned to the right tasks.

• Planning & Scheduling: Develop short-term "look-ahead" schedules. Coordinate with other disciplines to prevent workspace interference.

• Technical Oversight: Review P&IDs, ISOs, and blue prints to ensure accurate installation. Resolve technical bottlenecks and "clashes" in the field.

• Safety & Compliance: Enforce a "Zero Harm" culture. Conduct Tool Box Talks, ensure proper PPE usage, and manage Hot Work permits.

• Quality Control: Oversee hydro-testing, pneumatic testing, and NDE (Non-Destructive Examination) processes. Ensure all weld maps and test packages are documented correctly.


Required Qualifications & Skills:

• 10+ years experience in industrial piping with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.

• Deep technical knowledge of ASME B31.1 and B31.3 codes; proficiency in reading isometric drawings.

• Must be fluent in English with fluent or proficient in Spanish


Certifications:

• Journeyman Pipefitter status or equivalent degree

• OSHA 30-hour certification preferred


Work Environment:

This is a field-based position requiring presence on active construction sites.

Must be comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in various weather conditions. Travel or rotation schedules may be required depending on project location.
