Piping Superintendent
AC Corporation, A Crete United Company is growing and seeks a Piping Superintendent to join our Team in Winston Salem, NC.
Position Summary
The Piping Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all field piping activities on commercial and industrial construction projects. This role provides leadership to field crews, ensures projects are completed safely and efficiently, and maintains high standards for quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction. The Superintendent works closely with Project Managers, Foremen, subcontractors, and clients to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise piping field operations on assigned projects
  • Coordinate manpower, equipment, tools, and materials to support project schedules
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards
  • Conduct daily jobsite planning meetings and safety discussions
  • Monitor productivity, workmanship, and overall project progress
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, isometrics, and project schedules
  • Coordinate with other trades, subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders
  • Assist with workforce planning, crew assignments, and labor forecasting
  • Identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, and installation challenges
  • Ensure piping installations meet quality standards and project specifications
  • Track and report project progress, manpower, and jobsite concerns to management
  • Support project turnover, startup, testing, and commissioning activities
  • Mentor and develop Foremen and field employees
  • Maintain positive relationships with customers, inspectors, and project teams

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of industrial or commercial piping experience required
  • Previous Superintendent or Foreman leadership experience required
  • Strong knowledge of piping systems, installation methods, and construction practices
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Experience coordinating multiple crews and large-scale projects
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safe work practices
  • Ability to manage schedules and adapt to changing project demands
  • Proficient with basic computer systems and construction documentation

Preferred Experience
  • Commercial and industrial mechanical construction experience
  • Experience with process piping, hydronic piping, steam systems, medical gas, or welded piping systems
  • Knowledge of scheduling software and construction management platforms
  • NCCER certifications or applicable trade certifications preferred

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk jobsites for extended periods
  • Ability to climb ladders, work in elevated areas, and navigate active construction sites
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions
