What is a pipeline camp?

A Pipeline Camp is a specialized training program designed to teach participants the skills and knowledge required to work in the pipeline construction and maintenance industry. These camps often provide hands-on experience with pipeline equipment, safety protocols, and regulatory standards. Attendees may range from entry-level workers seeking to enter the field to those looking to advance their careers. The curriculum typically includes both classroom instruction and practical field exercises to prepare individuals for real-world pipeline operations.

What are some typical challenges faced by pipeline camp workers, and how can they be addressed on the job?

Pipeline Camp workers often deal with challenges such as working in remote locations, adapting to varying weather conditions, and maintaining safety standards while living on-site for extended periods. Teamwork and clear communication are essential, as workers must coordinate closely with colleagues to complete projects efficiently and safely. Employers typically provide comprehensive training and support systems, including regular safety briefings and access to necessary resources, to help employees manage these challenges and ensure a positive work environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a pipeline camp worker, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Pipeline Camp Worker, you need practical skills in facility maintenance, basic mechanical repair, and general labor, often supported by a high school diploma and safety certifications. Familiarity with tools such as power equipment, generators, and common camp management systems like HVAC or water purification is typically required. Strong teamwork, adaptability, and effective communication are crucial soft skills for living and working in remote, communal environments. These abilities ensure efficient camp operations, safety compliance, and a positive living environment for all camp residents.

Job description

BURN BOOT CAMP CULTURE

Burn Boot Camp is one of the fastest-growing fitness franchises in the nation. We move like our members - with purpose and fast-paced. We aim to inspire, empower, and transform lives through community-based fitness.  Apply today to join a team built on community!

POSITION OVERVIEW

The VP, Franchise Development owns the full franchise sales lifecycle — from pipeline strategy and lead generation through franchise agreement execution. This executive will build and lead a high-performing development team, drive scalable systems, and deliver a best-in-class candidate experience. We are looking for a seasoned franchise sales leader with a track record of exceeding growth targets and operating at a strategic level in a fast-moving organization. Experience in health, wellness, or fitness is strongly preferred.

ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Own annual franchise sales strategy, targets, and key performance metrics.
  • Lead, develop, and manage the franchise development team, including Directors and supporting staff.
  • Build and continuously improve systems, processes, and infrastructure that support growth at scale.
  • Serve as a senior executive ambassador for Burn Boot Camp's brand, culture, and growth vision.
  • Ensure pipeline health, conversion performance, and candidate experience meet or exceed organizational standards.
  • Own the franchise development budget and allocate resources to maximize effectiveness and ROI.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally at the executive level to align development with broader organizational goals.
  • Provide executive leadership with regular reporting, insights, and strategic recommendations.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Franchise Development Leadership:

  • Lead and develop the franchise development team — including hiring, coaching, performance management, and succession planning for Directors and supporting staff.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously refine franchise development systems, tools, and playbooks that drive efficiency, scalability, and team performance.
  • Own franchise development budget planning and management, ensuring resources are deployed effectively to support team performance and sales goals.
  • Oversee CRM strategy, pipeline reporting, and data integrity — delivering regular performance updates to the CDO and leadership team.
  • Uphold and champion Burn Boot Camp's culture, values, and brand standards while serving as a visible and influential leader within the organization.

Franchise Sales Strategy & Pipeline:

  • Own and execute the annual franchise sales strategy, including market prioritization, pipeline targets, lead generation approach, and conversion goals.
  • Oversee the full franchise development process from initial inquiry through agreement execution, ensuring a professional, consultative, and brand-aligned candidate experience.
  • Lead Confirmation Day strategy and execution, ensuring candidates are properly prepared, engaged, and positioned to make confident, informed investment decisions.
  • Develop and oversee a proactive franchise resale strategy, managing the full transfer lifecycle from seller exit planning through buyer qualification and ownership transition.

Growth, Expansion & Collaboration:

  • Partner with the CDO and executive leadership on long-term expansion strategy, territory development, market analysis, and competitive landscape to identify and prioritize high-opportunity growth markets.
  • Build and maintain senior-level relationships with franchise partners, brokers, and consultants while representing Burn Boot Camp at industry expos, conferences, and networking events.
  • Collaborate with Real Estate, Operations, Finance, Legal, and Training leadership to ensure a seamless transition from franchise award through onboarding and opening preparation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of franchise sales experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Demonstrated success building and leading high-performing franchise development teams.
  • Proven track record of exceeding franchise sales goals and scaling development operations in a growth-oriented environment.
  • Health, wellness, fitness, or related industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Executive-level communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate vision into execution.
  • Experience managing budgets, forecasting, and reporting at a department or functional level.
  • Proficiency with HubSpot or similar CRM platforms; experience building CRM strategies preferred.
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functionally across executive and senior leadership teams.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support team, candidate, and brand initiatives.
