Consolidated Pipe & Supply is a full-line supplier, fabricator, and manufacturer of pipe, valve, and fitting products and services to the natural gas, waterworks, energy, and industrial sectors.

Summary:

This position works as ambassadors and is responsible for establishing and maintaining good relationships with customers based on their assigned territory. They must build trust and act as support for prospects, ensuring they lead to potential future sales. Will be responsible for generating sales quotes, and handling customer inquiries. In addition to these duties, will make cold and warm calls for new market initiatives while becoming technically knowledgeable about the companyโ€™s products and vendors.

Essential Functions/Duties:

  • Travel within sales territory to meet prospects and customers
  • Conduct calls and face to face meetings with customers daily
  • Maintain records of all sales leads and/or customer accounts
  • Educate customers on how products or services can benefit them financially and professionally
  • Sell the companyโ€™s, new products, and be aware market conditions to understand a customerโ€™s specific needs
  • Responds to customersโ€™ needs, consistent with quality, culture, and business practices.
  • Receive telephone requests for price quotations, purchase orders, order changes, adjustments, and cancellations directly from customers, original equipment manufacturers, and distributors.
  • Achieve and maintain rapport with customers and work to give them the best possible service.
  • Use a computer to retrieve customer information, stock status information, the status of purchase orders, and to make changes on customer purchase orders
  • Follow up on inquiries by checking order status on the computer for delivery information. Work closely with purchasing/expeditor regarding deliveries of scheduled shipments.
  • Identify and develop new and existing marketing opportunities through mailings, research, cold calling, and trade show leads.

Having a well-developed phone presence and a high comfort level in initiating conversations is essential to fulfilling the daily duties of an outside sales representative. Aside from a social and positive personality, outside sales representatives must be self-starters and proactive problem solvers, since not every day is the same and the workplace setting is constantly changing.
