Job Title: Pipefitter
Job Description

This role focuses on laying out, fabricating, assembling, installing, and maintaining a wide range of piping systems and related equipment in a clean, safety-focused manufacturing environment. You will work with various pipe materials and fittings to build plumbing and piping systems that support steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, and industrial processing applications, which will be installed in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, and maintain piping and piping systems, fixtures, and equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, and industrial processing systems.
  • Select appropriate pipe types, sizes, and related materials based on project requirements and specifications.
  • Cut pipe using hacksaws, pipe cutters, hammers and chisels, cutting torches, and pipe cutting machines.
  • Thread pipe using threading machines and ensure proper fit and seal.
  • Bend pipe by hand or with pipe-bending machines to meet layout and design specifications.
  • Assemble and install a variety of metal and nonmetal pipes and pipe fittings, including brass, copper, glass, and plastic components.
  • Join piping using threaded, caulked, wiped, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints as appropriate for the material and application.
  • Secure pipes to structures using clamps, brackets, and hangers, utilizing hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints and drawings to ensure accurate assembly and installation of plumbing and piping systems.
  • Work within the plumbing division of a manufacturing facility to assemble and build plumbing systems that will be installed in the field.
  • Use hand and power tools, including torch cutting and pipe threading equipment, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and quality standards while maintaining a strong focus on safety.
Essential Skills
  • Ability to lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, and maintain piping and piping systems for various industrial applications.

Work Environment

You will work with a variety of hand and power tools, including pipe cutting, threading, and bending equipment, in a well-organized production environment focused on quality and efficiency.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $32.00/hr.
