Job Title: Pilot Logistics Specialist

Reports to: Crew Resources Manager

Department: Crew Resources

Location: YIP

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Pilot Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing the logistical needs of our pilots, focusing on hotel accommodations, airline travel, and ground transportation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Works with the pilot union to ensure all pilot travel and accommodations are in compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Audits all hotel locations throughout the Kalitta Air Network
  • Preforms yearly site visits throughout the Kalitta Air Network
  • Request and modifies last minute hotel reservations, ground, and commercial arrangements
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all ground transportation and lodging information, keeping an up to date database
  • Assist system administrators to ensure all travel programs are working within the crew scheduling software
  • Proactively works with vendors to navigate potential sell out situation
  • Provides a monthly audit for hotel usage to address any lodging changes that need to be made
  • Maintain accurate records of hotel, air travel, and transportation bookings, including expenses and invoices.
  • Any other duties assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining accuracy and a positive attitude
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Advanced skills in use of MS Office 2016 to include Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical ability
  • Strong command of the English language with solid writing skills
  • Experience in the Airline industry and/or customer service is a plus

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school graduate; some college and/or technical school desirable.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of world geography and flight operations.
  • Must possess exceptional attention to detail and abstract problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience in the airline industry is a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
