Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Technology Projects & Security leads the planning, coordination, and delivery of technology initiatives that support manufacturing operations, facility systems, security, operational technology, and internal IT improvement efforts.

This role serves as a cross-functional technology leader within the IT organization, working with Operations, Maintenance, Facilities, Quality, Safety, HR, Finance, vendors, contractors, and external partners to deliver practical, reliable, secure, and supportable technology solutions.

The position is responsible for improving how technology projects are evaluated, prioritized, scoped, documented, implemented, and transitioned into ongoing support. The role requires strong project leadership, technical judgment, vendor management, security awareness, and the ability to support hands-on troubleshooting, field validation, and proof-of-concept work when needed.

Security responsibilities include physical security technology, cybersecurity-aligned controls, access governance, operational technology risk reduction, vendor-managed systems, and secure implementation of technology across manufacturing and facility environments.


Key Responsibilities


Technology Project Management
  • Lead technology projects across manufacturing systems, facility systems, security, operational technology, business process automation, and IT-supported infrastructure.
  • Define project scope, requirements, timelines, budgets, risks, resource needs, implementation plans, and success criteria.
  • Coordinate internal teams, vendors, contractors, integrators, and consultants to deliver projects on time, within scope, and aligned with company standards.
  • Serve as a liaison between IT and operational departments to ensure technology initiatives support business priorities, production needs, risk reduction, and long-term scalability.
  • Manage project communications, stakeholder expectations, escalation paths, documentation, and post-implementation handoff.
  • Support project intake, prioritization, planning, documentation, and delivery processes for technology initiatives.
Security Technology & Risk Reduction
  • Support the planning, standardization, improvement, and lifecycle management of security-related technology systems.
  • Lead or coordinate projects involving access control, video surveillance, visitor management, badging, intrusion/alarm systems, intercoms, security doors, and related network-connected platforms.
  • Support cybersecurity and physical security risk reduction through practical controls, access governance, system hardening, monitoring, documentation, and vendor coordination.
  • Partner with IT, Facilities, HR, Safety, Operations, and external vendors to ensure security systems meet operational, safety, compliance, and business continuity needs.
  • Establish standards for device placement, permissions, network connectivity, documentation, maintenance, vendor support, and change control.
  • Support access reviews, incident review, audit readiness, and continuous improvement of security controls.
Operational Technology & Manufacturing Systems
  • Bridge IT and operational technology needs across production equipment, industrial networks, facility systems, automation platforms, dashboards, data integrations, and vendor-managed systems.
  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and Facilities to identify opportunities to improve visibility, reliability, automation, data access, and process control.
  • Support technology initiatives involving machine data, sensors, APIs, work-order integrations, building automation, utilities monitoring, and facility operations dashboards.
  • Help establish standards for OT connectivity, vendor remote access, segmentation, monitoring, documentation, lifecycle management, and support handoff.
  • Ensure manufacturing and facility technology solutions are designed with reliability, cybersecurity, maintainability, safety, and production impact in mind.
Standards, Governance & Vendor Management
  • Develop and maintain standards for technology project delivery, vendor engagement, documentation, commissioning, support handoff, and lifecycle management.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals, contracts, scopes of work, and system designs for technical fit, cost, risk, and long-term supportability.
  • Coordinate vendors, contractors, integrators, and consultants with clear expectations, standards, deliverables, and accountability.
  • Maintain accurate system documentation, diagrams, vendor contacts, support procedures, asset records, and project records.
  • Support budgeting, business cases, cost-benefit analysis, funding recommendations, and lifecycle planning for technology investments.
  • Ensure technology changes are planned and implemented with appropriate consideration for uptime, production impact, safety, security, and maintainability.
Technical Support & Field Execution
  • Provide hands-on technical support for complex, urgent, or high-priority technology initiatives when direct involvement improves speed, quality, or risk control.
  • Assist with troubleshooting, testing, commissioning, and validation of networked systems, security platforms, facility technology, infrastructure-connected systems, and operational technology integrations.
  • Support after-hours cutovers, production-sensitive changes, urgent troubleshooting, and field validation as needed.
  • Build or coordinate proof-of-concept solutions to evaluate new technologies before broader deployment.
  • Help internal teams and operational stakeholders understand support expectations, documentation, and system ownership.


Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in technology project management, IT infrastructure, operational technology, systems integration, cybersecurity, physical security technology, or related technical roles.
  • Experience leading cross-functional technology projects involving internal stakeholders, vendors, contractors, and technical teams.
  • Strong understanding of networked systems, security technology, manufacturing or facility systems, cybersecurity fundamentals, and business systems integration.
  • Experience working in manufacturing, food production, logistics, facilities, industrial operations, or another operationally intensive environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business and operational requirements into practical technical solutions.
  • Experience managing vendor scopes, budgets, schedules, project risks, technical documentation, and stakeholder communications.
  • Working knowledge of networked devices, access control, video surveillance, PoE infrastructure, wireless systems, VLANs, firewalls, remote access, endpoint systems, cloud-connected services, and systems documentation.
  • Ability to operate effectively in both planning discussions and hands-on field environments.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across IT, Operations, Maintenance, Facilities, Quality, Safety, HR, Finance, vendors, and executive leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with operational technology, industrial networks, production equipment connectivity, PLC/automation environments, robotics, machine data, or manufacturing systems.
