Help Older Adults Stay Connected, Independent, and Safe

Peninsula Volunteers, Inc. (PVI) is looking for compassionate, dependable volunteers to serve as Ride PVI Phone Agents. In this role, you will be an important link between older adults and the transportation they need to get to medical appointments, grocery stores, pharmacies, community resources, and other essential destinations.

What You’ll Do

  • Answer incoming calls to the Ride PVI transportation hotline.
  • Listen to clients’ transportation needs and provide friendly, patient assistance.
  • Request and monitor rides using Lyft and Uber desktop platforms.
  • Apply accurate ride cost codes.
  • Provide clients with basic information about the Ride PVI program.
  • Help ensure each caller feels heard, respected, and supported.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for volunteers who are:

  • Patient, compassionate, and understanding.
  • Comfortable providing excellent customer service over the phone.
  • Able to confidently move between a phone system and computer applications.
  • Comfortable learning and using Lyft and Uber desktop platforms.
  • Reliable and able to commit to scheduled shifts.
  • Interested in supporting older adults and/or underserved communities.

Previous experience working with older adults is a plus, but not required. Training will be provided.
