Responsibilities

Responsible for overseeing the operations of the pre-analytical laboratory team consisting of Team Leads, Phlebotomists, Laboratory Technicians, and Laboratory Assistants in main laboratory and outpatient settings. Assumes the leadership role for designated section and staff, and assigns staff based on section needs, available staff, and skill levels. Responsible for training and mentoring staff and facilitates continuous quality care in collaboration with laboratory management. Supervises and evaluates staff, coordinates and administers policies and programs related to laboratory operations. Provides a variety of laboratory support functions and leadership support for laboratory tasks, except those restricted by California law.


Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
MINIMUM REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree.
4 years’ experience as a Lab Assistant may be substituted in lieu of education.
PREFERRED: Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare related field.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
MINIMUM REQUIRED: State of California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I (CPT I) or Phlebotomy Technician II (CPT II).
