Patient Service Technician (Phlebotomy)

Location: Orleans, MA

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Job Summary

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Patient Service Technician (Phlebotomy) to provide quality patient care through the collection and processing of laboratory specimens. The ideal candidate will have strong phlebotomy skills, excellent customer service abilities, and experience working in laboratory collection environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional customer service to patients, staff, and healthcare providers

  • Collect blood specimens using venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks

  • Obtain throat culture swabs and provide instructions for home specimen collection

  • Process laboratory specimens according to testing requirements and protocols

  • Register patient demographic information accurately into laboratory systems

  • Enter physician laboratory orders accurately and efficiently

  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and follow medical necessity requirements

  • Rotate between multiple laboratory collection sites as assigned

  • Communicate specimen information and test results with healthcare providers

  • Resolve specimen-related issues and escalate concerns when necessary

  • Perform occasional off-site phlebotomy services at nursing homes, patient homes, or physician offices

  • Participate in on-call rotation schedules as required

  • Manage inventory and maintain adequate supply levels

  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of collection and work areas

  • Support laboratory operations and assist with departmental needs

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Valid U.S. Driver's License

  • Successful completion of a phlebotomy training program or relevant work experience requiring phlebotomy

  • Acceptable driving record

  • Successful completion of Driver Safety Training requirements

  • Successful completion of Medical Terminology Exam

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
