Co-op - Mechanical Engineer - Orlando, FL - August 2026

Are you interested in an COOP opportunity with Philips? We welcome individuals who are currently pursuing an undergraduate (MS) degree to participate in 6 month paid COOP opportunities at our site in Orlando. Through this role you will gain meaningful, hands-on experience working for a HealthTech company.

Your role:

  • Support the development of parts and assemblies using CAD tools.
  • 3D Printing using multiple additive technologies
  • Evaluation of product geometry and tolerance analysis using metrology tools such as 3D scanners and optical comparators.
  • Aids in the management of a dedicated departmental support process which has a direct impact on Philips' med-tech products (e.g. production processes within Manufacturing) by collaborating with different stakeholders to ensure smooth operations, demonstrating great inter-personal and communication skills.
  • Supports the day-to-day activities of a dedicated department, typically involving hands-on, operational tasks essential for maintaining production flow, ensuring product quality, managing inventory, providing technical support etc. to meet dynamic environment and continuous improvement goals, exercising autonomy within established procedures.

  • The candidate must be enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering program or a closely related technical major
  • Interest in optical and pneumatic systems.
  • Interest in 3D printing technologies
  • Understanding of Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
  • Interest in Research & Analysis
  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company's facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company's main facilities, generally at the customers' or suppliers' locations.

Philips Transparency Details

The hourly pay range for this position is $25.00 to $29.00, plus overtime eligible. The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
