Job description

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Chemical Engineer with a strong background in research & development, process development, and new product commercialization. The ideal candidate will have expertise in chemical processing, mixing technologies, scale-up from laboratory to production, and solving complex engineering challenges across industries such as pharmaceuticals, batteries/energy storage, energetics, or other advanced industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead R&D projects involving advanced chemical processes and mixing technologies from concept through commercialization.
  • Develop and optimize batch, continuous-batch, and continuous chemical processing systems.
  • Design, evaluate, and scale chemical processes involving solid-solid, liquid-solid, and liquid-liquid mixing systems.
  • Conduct research involving mass transfer, heat transfer, reaction processes, process control, and process optimization.
  • Develop process requirements, experimental plans, reaction protocols, and technical investigations.
  • Support development of advanced processing equipment and technologies from bench scale to full production.
  • Prepare technical reports, grant proposals, and present findings to customers, investors, government agencies, and internal teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop innovative products and manufacturing solutions.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (MS or PhD preferred).
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in chemical engineering, R&D, product development, or process development.
  • Strong knowledge of chemical process design, process scale-up, and commercialization.
  • Experience with mixing technologies, chemical reactions, and industrial processing equipment.
  • Background in industries such as pharmaceuticals, batteries/energy storage, energetics, specialty chemicals, or advanced materials.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, technical writing, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage projects independently from concept to completion.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience with advanced mixing technologies, continuous crystallization, mechanochemical processes, or novel manufacturing methods.
