Position Overview

Our Client is seeking an experienced Didde Web Pressman to join its production team in Hauppauge, NY. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating Didde Web Presses within a commercial or pharmaceutical printing environment while maintaining exceptional print quality, production efficiency, and adherence to quality standards.

The successful candidate will be responsible for machine setup, press operation, troubleshooting, quality inspections, color control, and ensuring continuous production while minimizing downtime.

Key ResponsibilitiesWeb Press Operation
  • Set up, operate, and monitor Didde Web Press equipment throughout production.

  • Perform press setup according to production specifications.

  • Make mechanical adjustments to ensure optimal machine performance.

  • Maintain consistent production output while meeting quality standards.

  • Monitor machine performance and identify potential operational issues before they impact production.

  • Maintain proper press speeds while ensuring product quality.

Printing Quality Control
  • Perform ongoing print quality inspections throughout production.

  • Monitor color consistency and registration.

  • Evaluate print quality against approved production standards.

  • Ensure finished products meet all Quality Assurance requirements.

  • Identify print defects and take corrective action immediately.

  • Maintain high-quality standards for pharmaceutical printed materials.

Troubleshooting & Maintenance
  • Troubleshoot printing issues and production problems.

  • Successfully identify and correct web breaks.

  • Perform minor machine repairs and mechanical adjustments.

  • Make equipment adjustments to improve efficiency and minimize downtime.

  • Report major equipment issues requiring maintenance support.

Color Management
  • Observe and evaluate color consistency throughout production.

  • Adjust ink flow and press settings as necessary.

  • Ensure accurate four-color process printing when required.

  • Maintain consistent print quality from start to finish.

Production & Documentation
  • Complete production according to work orders and production schedules.

  • Maintain accurate production records as required.

  • Monitor waste and work to minimize material loss.

  • Communicate production concerns to supervisors and team members.

Safety & Housekeeping
  • Follow all company safety procedures and operational guidelines.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

  • Properly utilize personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the production process.


Required QualificationsEducation
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.

  • Equivalent printing industry experience will also be considered.

Experience
  • Minimum 1 year of Didde Web Press experience (Required).

  • Experience operating Flexographic (Flexo) Presses preferred.

  • Experience within pharmaceutical, commercial, or packaging printing environments preferred.

  • Experience performing machine setup, adjustments, and troubleshooting.

Technical Skills
  • Experience operating Didde Web Press equipment.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.

  • Ability to make mechanical press adjustments.

  • Ability to troubleshoot web breaks and printing issues.

  • Understanding of four-color process printing.

  • Plate mounting experience is a plus.

  • Ability to perform print quality inspections.

  • Knowledge of quality assurance standards.

  • Basic machine maintenance skills.

Mathematical Skills

Candidates should be able to:

  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers.

  • Work with fractions and decimals.
