Overview:The Senior Medical Editor will be the lead editor on multiple brands. Senior Medical Editors will be well versed in the science of their brands and that of the competitors, the client's style, and AMA style. Senior Medical Editors are expected to model the four core values of substance, style, conviction, and grace, as well as mentor less experienced Copy Editors. With an eye for detail, the Senior Medical Editor will work with their Account and Project Management team members to ensure that the highest quality of work is being produced within given project timelines.ย 

Responsibilities:ย 

  • Lead copy editor on multiple brandsย 
  • Copyedit, fact-check, and proofread a variety of promotional and educational materials for physicians, other healthcare professionals, and patients from manuscript through print or digital productionย 
  • Work closely with Account Services, Copywriters, Art Directors, and other team members to ensure that print and digital materials are of the highest quality in terms of accuracy, utility, clarity, readability, and appealย 
  • Work with Account Services and Project Managers on timing of quality control of projectsย 
  • Provide guidance to less experienced Copy Editorsย 
  • Help Copywriters and Account team with research and article retrievalย 
  • Create andmaintainbrand style guidesย 

Qualifications and Experience:ย 

  • Bachelor's degreeย 
  • Three to five years' copyediting experience in a pharmaceutical advertising agency, in-house agency, or medical publishing company preferred. Will consider candidates with copyediting experience in other fieldsย 
  • Working knowledge of AMA Manual of Style, 10th edition desirableย 
  • Experience using Adobe Acrobat to copyedit is a plusย

The range belowrepresentsthe low and high end of the base salary someone in this role may earn as an employee of an Omnicom Health Group company in the United States. Salaries will vary based onvarious factorsincluding but not limited to professional and academic experience, training, associated responsibilities, and other business and organizational needs. The range listed is just onecomponentof our total compensation package for employees. Salary decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each hire.ย 

  • ย Salary range - $69,500 - $93,875
