Located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, TPC San Antonio is a private resort, accessible exclusively to Members, their guests and guests of the adjoining JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa. TPC San Antonio provides our Members and Resort guests the avenue to enjoy 36-holes of championship golf, along with a host of resort benefits, from fine dining to luxury spa treatments to hours at the on-site Riverbluff Water Experience. TPC San Antonio opened in January 2010 with two 18-hole championship golf courses designed by two of golf's most innovative architects: Pete Dye and Greg Norman. Both courses have played host to TOUR events with The Oaks course serving as the host venue of the PGA TOUR's Valero Texas Open since 2010.

The PGM/PGA GolfServicesInternship programis for those seeking management careers in golf operations. The position is designed to provide the individual with experience and training directed specifically towards preparing them for promotion to an Assistant Golf Professional position and fulfilling the requirements of a student enrolled in a PGA Golf Management program at a 4-year college or university. The PGM/GolfServicesInternmayperform a broad range of golf activities including but not limited to golf shop operations, customer service, group golf instruction, visual merchandising, golf cart fleet management, practice facility operations, tournament operations, special projects, limited supervision, and administrative duties.Our team of experienced golf professionals is prepared to guide you through the PGM program, including time off for studying/testing, practice schedule for PAT preparation, and experience-basedassistanceoffered at each of the 3 PGA levels.

Responsibilities / Duties

  • Assist PGA TOUR players,membersand guests with their Performance Center needs, ensuring that every step of their experience at the Performance Center runs as smoothly and is as enjoyable as possible.

  • Greet and welcome members and guests in a warm and professional manner.

  • At opening assist in setup of the lesson tee, ensuring there are enough practice balls for the day's scheduled lessons. Pull Performance Center golf car to staging area.

  • Remove golf bags from member/guest car and load themonthe Performance Center golf car.Drive the member/guest to the Performance Center.

  • Make sure to have warm-up bags and the day's lesson schedule at the podium before the first lesson.

  • At closing, drive the Performance Center golf car intogolfcar facility.Thoroughly cleangolfcar and plug it into the battery charger.

  • Ensure that the Performance Center interior and exteriorisalways clean and orderly.

  • Service the practice facility by driving the picker and mechanically picking up golf balls in the area.Set up the lesson tee.Continually replenish the supply of practice facility balls.Patrol the lesson tee and pick up trashand practice golf ball bags.Rotate lesson tee areain accordance withteemaintenance program.Collect, clean and bag balls at the end of the day, ensuring that all range balls are always in excellent condition by culling damaged balls.

  • Assistmembers and guests as theydepartfrom the facility, ensuring that all golf clubs are cleaned, and that a staff member carries and places golf clubs in Member's or Guest's vehicle.

  • Ensure that no Member or Guest carries his or her clubs to or from the Performance Center or in the parking lot or clubhouse areas.

  • Communicate by two-wayradiothe arrival of guests, verifying that lesson timesremainon schedule.

  • Work closely with the Golf Shop staff to ensure that all club rules including dress code and beverage policy are followed by members and guests.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.

  • Knowledge of general business administration practices and professional golf operations. practices andprocedures aswould beacquiredthrough education orpreviousgolf employment experience.

  • Working knowledge of golf course operations and practices preferred.

  • Plans to enjoy a career in the golf industry.

  • Must have a current and valid driver's license and be able tooperatea motor vehicle.
