Job description

This is a full-time opportunity for college graduates who have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE) and have obtained their Engineering Intern (EI) license. We will also consider those who are in the process of obtaining their EI License.
Purpose & Need
Patel, Greene and Associates (PGA) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Roadway Engineer Intern (EI). This position is available in our Orlando office. The Roadway Engineer Intern should possess strong communication and organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, and a working knowledge of CADD systems. You will gain hands-on experience with engineering software, design standards, and technical documentation. This position offers opportunities for growth, continuous learning, and career advancement within a team-driven, mission-focused firm. 
What You'll Do
  • Understand the concepts of geometry design
  • Understand the development of pay item quantities and calculations
  • Understand the process for development of a project cost estimate
  • Effectively research projects and assist with marketing efforts from a roadway point-of-view
  • Gain proficiency in technical writing
  • Gain proficiency in all design standards, manuals, and criteria
  • Gain proficiency in the use of MicroStation or AutoCAD, including civil platforms (such as OpenRoads Designer, Civil3D, etc.)
  • Requires moderate technical supervision of tasks by senior staff
  • Complete tasks and projects within expectations of Project Manager, Supervisor or Task Lead
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent from an ABET Accredited University, majoring in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • 0-4 years of post-graduation experience
  • Engineering Intern (EI) certificate or ability to obtain within 1 year
