Job description

Introduction
At RPS, we don’t just embrace bold ideas, we make them happen. We’re a team of entrepreneurs, big-picture thinkers, and passionate experts who thrive on possibility. Every day, we collaborate across teams, challenge convention, and push boundaries to design innovative solutions for our clients. With access to top-rated carriers and a dynamic marketplace, we bring strategy and creativity together to deliver what others might call impossible. Here, every voice counts, every perspective matters, and every challenge is an opportunity to grow. You’ll be supported by a culture that celebrates ownership, curiosity, and high performance, where you’re trusted to do your best work and encouraged to keep learning along the way.

Overview

In this role, you'll help service and manage personal lines accounts while balancing underwriting judgement with day-to-day client support. You'll review insurance applications for property and casualty cover, assess the risk using details such as property value, location, usage, and safety features, and decide whether to accept, amend, or decline the risk within set underwriting guidelines.

You'll also work closely with colleagues in the field to gather the information you need to support clear, well-reasoned underwriting decisions. This is a role where service, accuracy, and sound judgement come together, with both production and service goals to work towards.

How you'll make an impact

You'll manage assigned accounts from both a service and underwriting point of view, making sure each one is handled with care and in line with agreed guidelines. Day to day, you'll review applications, weigh up risk information, and help shape policy decisions that are fair, consistent, and well supported.

You'll also stay close to the field teams, asking the right questions and building the information needed to defend underwriting decisions. Alongside that, you'll keep an eye on your production and service goals, helping to make sure accounts are moved forward efficiently while giving clients and colleagues the support they need.

Here's what you'll bring to the role:

  • You'll be able to review personal lines insurance applications and make underwriting decisions using set guidelines.
  • You'll be comfortable assessing risk using information such as property value, location, usage, safety features, and other relevant details.
  • You'll be able to decide when to accept, amend, or decline a risk and explain the reason clearly.
  • You'll be confident gathering information from field contacts and using it to support underwriting decisions.
  • You'll be able to manage assigned accounts while keeping service and production goals in view.
  • You'll communicate clearly with colleagues and partners, using plain language to explain decisions and ask for the information you need.
  • You'll work in a way that is organised, accurate, and focused on follow-through.
  • You'll be comfortable balancing day-to-day servicing with underwriting work.

About You

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years related experience required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications and Microsoft Office.
