We are seeking a talented individual to join our Underwriting team at Torrent Technologies. This role will be based in Kalispell, or can be performed Remotely Nationwide.

As a Flood Underwriter, you will work under the supervision of the Underwriting Manager, reviewing and analyzing quotations while servicing an existing book of business.

We will count on you to:

  • Underwrite new submissions to ensure new policies are correct, per guidelines.

  • Process endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements, handle billing issues, and complete policy issuance.

  • Review all underwriting information, including applications, photographs, elevation certificates, and third-party internet resources to accurately underwrite policies.

  • Provide customer service to agents via phone support, online chat, and emails, meeting required production KPIs as defined by leadership.

  • Deescalate difficult customer situations and bring them to complete resolution.

  • Actively participate in group activities, including daily huddles, team meetings, and training opportunities.

What you need to have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 1+ year of insurance underwriting or recent flood insurance experience.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Basic to intermediate technical knowledge of systems and procedures, with attention to detail.

  • Basic computer knowledge and proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
