Summary Objective
Person County Government is seeking dependable, organized, and customer-focused Part-Time Administrative Support Staff members to support the day-to-day operations of the Kirby Cultural Arts Complex, a dynamic, multi-programmatic facility that serves as a hub for arts, culture, entertainment, and community activities.
This position provides essential administrative and operational support to help ensure the smooth and effective delivery of programs, events, and services at the Complex. The ideal candidates will be detail-oriented, professional, and comfortable working in a busy environment where priorities may shift based on programming, events, and community needs.

This is a non-exempt position. Part-time employees cannot work more than 1000 hours per calendar year.
Essential Functions
The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
  • Open gallery.
  • Respond to voicemails and emails promptly and appropriately.
  • Maintains visitor log.. Prepares a variety of documents, reports, correspondence and presentations using data bases, spreadsheets, word processing and presentation software; creates some documents with only general instruction.
  • Maintains all aspects of social media and main stream media pertaining to the Kirby Cultural Arts Complex which includes:
    • Administer and assist with Gallery Art Shows,
    • Administer rental processes and facility use of the Kirby Cultural Arts Complex.
  • Conduct Daily accounting practice following the Person County Finance Department procedures accounting procedures.
  • Assists in the preparation and implementation of shows, events, programs, and productions. Performs the operation of light, sound, and all other technical theater equipment as needed for shows, events, programs, and productions.
  • Provides customer service; answers a variety of questions from public officials and the general public; prepares a variety of scheduled and special reports for senior management and various government agencies.
  • Complete custodian tasks including but not limited to: floors, furniture, restrooms, and trash.
Additional Duties
  • Provides back up for other staff
  • Performs related duties as required.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
  • Completion of sufficient education to ensure the ability to read and write, and some experience in building cleaning work.
  • Must be available to work during the office hours of 9:00-5:00 Monday-Friday (20 hours per week).

None.
Person County conducts pre-employment screening on candidates. Job offers are conditional pending the following:
  • A pre-employment drug screen for all candidates. Positions designated by Person County as Safety Sensitive are also subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
  • A background check for all candidates. Some positions also require a credit check.
  • Additional screening and testing required for some positions.
  • Within 3 days of the start of your employment with the County, you must be able to provide proof of your eligibility to work in the US.
