Job description

Crouse’s Addiction Treatment team provides a comprehensive system of assessment and treatment services for individuals with substance use disorders by integrating physical, mental and spiritual healthcare practices for patients and families. The Addiction Treatment team is hiring an Addiction Treatment Permanent Charge Counselor.

Schedule: Full Time, Four 10-hour shifts/week, 12:00pm-10:30pm

Pay Range: $35.00 - $38.04 / hourly

Addiction Treatment Permanent Charge Counselor Position Responsibilities:

  • Assists with clinical supervision of staff; meets with staff to discuss clinical issues to enhance   skills and promote staff development; uses tools such as taping of sessions as needed; discusses theoretical concepts with staff to encourage growth.
  • Prepare reports and statistical data as needed; assist Supervisor as needed.
  • Orients new staff to their position and to policies and procedures of the department.
  • Serves as resource for staff in day-to-day case management and clinical decision making.
  • Assumes responsibility for day-to-day management of the service in the absence of the Supervisor; solves problems; communicates with leadership and Medical Director.
  • Carries out duties of staff counselor as needed; fills in for staff absences as needed; follows policies and procedures of staff counselor.
  • Covers daily clinical staff meetings as needed in the absence of the Supervisor and Manager; reviews cases, facilitates case management; provides communication.
  • Attends meetings and serves on committees as assigned.
  • Assumes other duties as assigned by department leadership.

Addiction Treatment Permanent Charge Counselor Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field required, Master's Degree preferred.
  • Part I of 30-Hour OASAS approved Clinical Supervision Foundations must be completed before hire. Part II is required to be completed within 90 days of hire.
  • Must be a certified Qualified Health Professional (QHP) per New York State OASAS Regulations Part 800.2 required
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the addiction treatment field.
  • Must also have progressive administrative experience.
