Position Overview

The General Counsel serves as the primary legal advisor to executive leadership, overseeing corporate governance, compliance, legal risk, commercial contracts, litigation, and regulatory matters while supporting the organization's strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal advice to executive leadership.
  • Lead corporate governance and compliance programs.
  • Oversee ethics, regulatory compliance, and enterprise risk management.
  • Manage commercial contracts and contract negotiations.
  • Direct litigation strategy and coordinate outside counsel.
  • Advise on employment law matters.
  • Ensure compliance with food industry regulations, including food safety and labeling requirements.
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and other corporate transactions.
  • Develop legal policies and deliver compliance training.
Required Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (JD) with active bar membership.
  • Extensive experience as a General Counsel or senior in-house legal executive.
