Infection Control Nurse
Job Summary:
As a respected leader in long-term care, Nyack Ridge Rehabilitation & Nursing Center is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Infection Control Nurse (RN) to join our team. You will be responsible for leading and overseeing our Infection Prevention and Control Program, ensuring compliance with NYSDOH, CDC, OSHA, and CMS regulations, and promoting a safe environment for our residents and staff.
About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled and dedicated professional to develop, implement, and manage our facility's Infection Prevention & Control Program. As an Infection Control Nurse, you will conduct infection surveillance, track trends, and complete required reporting. You will also lead outbreak investigations and response initiatives, ensure compliance with regulations, provide ongoing staff education on infection prevention practices, and participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and manage the facility's Infection Prevention & Control Program
Conduct infection surveillance, track trends, and complete required reporting (including NHSN)
Lead outbreak investigations and response initiatives
Ensure compliance with NYSDOH and CMS regulations for long-term care
Provide ongoing staff education on infection prevention practices
Monitor antibiotic stewardship initiatives
Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) activities
Prepare for and support regulatory surveys and audits
Requirements:
RN license in New York State
Minimum 2 years RN experience (long-term care experience preferred)
Infection control experience in SNF or healthcare setting preferred
CIC certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
Strong knowledge of CMS F-Tags related to Infection Control (F880)
