Job description


I. Job Summary
The Senior Web Administrator (Windows) is responsible for the design, administration, security, and operational stability of enterprise web platforms hosted on Windows-based infrastructure. The position partners closely with application teams, infrastructure engineering, security, and operations to support complex web environments, lead platform improvements, and drive modernization efforts. The Senior Web Administrator serves as a subject matter expert for Windows Server OS, Windows web services, proactively identifying risks, resolving complex issues, and implementing best practices across the web hosting ecosystem.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Serve as the senior technical owner for Windows-based web platforms, ensuring availability, performance, scalability, and security of enterprise web services.
  • Administer, configure, and support Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) across development, test, and production environments.
  • Lead architecture, deployment, and lifecycle management of web servers and supporting components on Windows Server platforms.
  • Partner with application development teams to support application onboarding, configuration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
  • Design and implement high-availability and disaster recovery strategies for web platforms, including load balancing and failover.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex web, OS, and infrastructure issues.
  • Implement and maintain security controls for web environments, including TLS/SSL, authentication methods, patching, hardening, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Drive platform standardization, automation, and modernization initiatives to reduce technical debt and improve operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures for web platform administration.
  • Support change management processes, including planning, testing, and execution of platform upgrades and maintenance activities.
  • Monitor system health and performance using enterprise monitoring tools; proactively identify and remediate risks and capacity constraints.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for Windows Server environment and provide guidance to junior administrators and engineering partners.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, network, security, and cloud teams to ensure seamless integration across the enterprise environment.
  • Participate in on call rotations and provide escalation level support for critical incidents as required.

  • Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Computer Science, MIS or similar area of study or in lieu of degree
  • High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four years of relevant work experience.
  • 5 years of prior work experience (in addition to education requirement).
