Position Overview

The Automotive Sales Consultant role is designed for highly motivated, disciplined professionals who understand that success comes from process, follow-up, accountability, and customer trust.

This role focuses on the full customer journey — needs assessment, product presentation, trade-in evaluation, follow-up, and delivery — supported by modern technology and a well-organized sales process.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Experience & Sales Process

  • Guide customers through the full Toyota ownership journey
  • Conduct needs-based consultations
  • Deliver professional product presentations focused on value and fit

Unsold Lead & Follow-Up Management

  • Manage unsold showroom, phone, and internet leads
  • Execute disciplined, timely follow-up using CRM tools
  • Convert opportunities over time through consistency and professionalism

Phone, Referral & Relationship Development

  • Work the phone to re-engage prospects and prior customers
  • Ask for and cultivate customer referrals
  • Build repeat and referral business

Trade-In Evaluation & Market Understanding

  • Properly evaluate trade-in vehicles using condition, mileage, and market data
  • Work with management and appraisal tools to determine accurate trade values
  • Clearly explain trade-in values and market conditions to customers
  • Set realistic expectations while maintaining trust and protecting gross

Technology & Data Utilization

  • Use CRM, sales-process software, and product-knowledge applications daily
  • Operate effectively in a fully digital, paperless sales environment

Accountability & Performance

  • Maximize opportunities provided by the dealership
  • Maintain closing ratios above market averages
  • Deliver strong gross profit performance
  • Follow dealership policies, processes, and standards
