QA Test Manager
Location: Austin, Texas (ONSITE)
Contract: 12 months+ potential extension
We are seeking an experienced QA Test Manager to lead quality assurance and testing efforts for large-scale modernization initiatives. This role is responsible for overseeing testing strategy, execution, and defect management across the full software development lifecycle, while serving as a key liaison between IT, business stakeholders, and vendors.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience managing QA/testing activities across multiple testing types (UAT, performance, security, etc.)
  • 7+ years of experience developing and executing test strategies, test plans, and test cases
  • Strong experience with defect tracking, reporting, and test documentation
  • Experience with QA/testing tools such as Jira, Selenium, JUnit, Microfocus UFT, SQL, or similar
  • Solid understanding of SDLC methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall
  • Proven leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • 4+ years of experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, JProfiler)
  • Experience with Salesforce platforms
  • Prior experience working with government agencies is highly desirable
  • Experience in a team lead or project management capacity

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead QA and testing activities across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Define, implement, and manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT) strategies, including “Soft UAT” guidance
  • Coordinate sprint review feedback with vendors and business SMEs
  • Review and refine test cases; collaborate with stakeholders to develop new test scenarios
  • Manage and execute testing activities, including tracking results, defects, and issue resolution
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between IT teams, business users, and vendors
  • Lead defect triage, prioritization, tracking, and root cause analysis
  • Provide regular status updates on UAT progress, testing outcomes, and defect metrics
  • Ensure test coverage, requirement traceability, and successful completion of UAT exit criteria
  • Mentor and support QA team members; coordinate testing schedules and resources
