The Marketing Coordinator - Athletic & Entertainment Facilities develops, implements, and evaluates comprehensive marketing strategies that promote events, programs, premium experiences, venue rentals, and services for Great Southern Bank Arena and Juanita K. Hammons Hall. The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for increasing event awareness, driving ticket sales and attendance, supporting revenue generation, enhancing the guest experience, and strengthening the public image of both venues through digital marketing, advertising, public relations, social media, graphic design, and community engagement. The position collaborates closely with internal university departments, promoters, touring partners, artists, and community organizations to successfully market a diverse calendar of concerts, theatrical performances, athletic events, family shows, university events, and special events.
Description of Primary Duties
The Marketing Coordinator - Athletic & Entertainment Facilities develops, implements, and evaluates comprehensive marketing strategies that promote events, programs, premium experiences, venue rentals, and services for Great Southern Bank Arena and Juanita K. Hammons Hall. The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for increasing event awareness, driving ticket sales and attendance, supporting revenue generation, enhancing the guest experience, and strengthening the public image of both venues through digital marketing, advertising, public relations, social media, graphic design, and community engagement. The position collaborates closely with internal university departments, promoters, touring partners, artists, and community organizations to successfully market a diverse calendar of concerts, theatrical performances, athletic events, family shows, university events, and special events.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
Education: A bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Advertising, Graphic Design, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
Experience: At least one year of professional experience in marketing, communications, event marketing, sports marketing, entertainment marketing, or a related field is preferred. Experience with digital advertising, including search engine marketing (SEM), paid search (Google Ads), paid Meta advertising, and search engine optimization (SEO), social media management, graphic design, email marketing, website content management, or ticketed event marketing is preferred.
Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required. The ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders while maintaining attention to detail is required. Strong organizational and project management skills are required with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Content creation experience utilizing social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn for marketing campaigns is required. Experience with Canva and Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro, is preferred. Knowledge of website content management systems, email marketing platforms, photography, videography, video production and editing, digital advertising (Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, Google Analytics, SEO, and SEM), analytics, and Microsoft Office is preferred.
