Job description

Position Summary:
The Category Marketing Manager is responsible for leading the development and execution of strategic marketing initiatives that support category merchandising priorities, product launches, and brand objectives across Bass Pro Shops, Cabela's branded products, and key national brand partners. This role serves as the primary liaison between Merchandising and Marketing for assigned merchandise categories, driving alignment, collaboration, and omni-channel execution across all marketing channels.
This role will guide cross-functional teams in developing omni-channel marketing strategies that deliver a premium customer experience, support category sales and profitability goals, and strengthen brand positioning. The Category Marketing Manager will also play a key role in identifying opportunities for innovation, process improvement, and stronger integration between Merchandising and Marketing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Lead the development and execution of strategic marketing initiatives, product launches, campaigns, and enterprise priorities
• Partner closely with Merchandising leadership and Marketing teams to establish strategic priorities and marketing focus areas for Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's branded products, as well as select national brand partners.
• Develop and manage budgets for assigned business areas and initiatives.
• Partner with enterprise analytics teams to evaluate marketing performance, measure return on investment (ROI), and identify actionable insights related to sales, margin, customer engagement, shopper behavior, and inventory performance.
• Monitor sales, margin, inventory, and customer trends to identify opportunities and risks within assigned categories.
• Identify opportunities to integrate cross-functional expertise, customer insights, and analytical resources into merchandising and marketing planning.
• Contribute to the development of future-focused marketing and merchandising strategies that improve organizational effectiveness and customer engagement.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or Related
• Years of experience: 4-6
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
• Strong understanding of merchandising and marketing strategy within a retail environment
• Passion for the outdoors and alignment with the Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's brand values
• Omni-channel retail marketing experience preferred
• Experience working with branded product strategies and national brand partnerships
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Self-starter with a high level of accountability and ownership
• Ability to influence and collaborate across multiple business functions and leadership levels
• Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable business strategies
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
