Job description

JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Project Manager (SPM) is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and oversight of multiple high-value construction projects from initiation through completion. This role involves complex planning, budget control, team development, client communication, contract administration, and risk management. The SPM ensures that each project meets or exceeds expectations for safety, quality, schedule, and profitability while supporting company growth and mentoring project teams. This is a strategic leadership role requiring deep industry knowledge, communication finesse, and operational excellence.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBLIITIES
  • Develop and manage comprehensive project schedules using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
  • Convert estimates into project controls budgets and implement buyout strategy
  • Forecast labor, cost, productivity, and material expenditures
  • Analyze BI reports for cost tracking and forecasting to completion
  • Lead development of Project-Specific Safety Plans and Emergency Action Plans
  • Maintain labor tracking reports, schedule updates, and forecasting documents
  • Manage 1-3 Project Managers and/or Assistant Project Managers
  • Assign responsibilities aligned with employee strengths and growth paths
  • Ensure timely performance reviews, coaching, and career development planning
  • Oversee project hiring plans in coordination with HR and executive leadership
  • Actively promote training, performance improvement, and staff accountability
  • Support field operations and collaborate with Superintendents on project execution
  • Understand and enforce OSHA, environmental, and industry regulations
  • Maintain control of subcontract and PO issuance, schedules, change orders, and amendments
  • Manage document control systems including submittals, RFIs, correspondence, and change logs
  • Ensure materials and equipment are ordered, delivered, and tracked efficiently
  • Resolve field issues, scope changes, and project challenges quickly and constructively
  • Communicate changes to clients and stakeholders; negotiate and finalize change orders
  • Approve vendor invoices and manage application for payment and billing cycles
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, engineers, and subcontractors
  • Conduct regular client meetings and site walks; maintain high professional standards
  • Maintain positive relationships and seek win-win solutions while protecting Blackeagle's interests
  • Lead discussions on critical topics including schedule performance, permitting, and compliance
  • Promote continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, and schedule
  • Drive collaboration across internal departments including Safety, Procurement, HR, and Equipment
  • Establish team accountability and manage to milestones, performance metrics, and deliverables
  • Lead the project closeout process and ensure all contract and documentation obligations are met
  • Forecast and mitigate project risk using risk matrices, cash flow analysis, and constructability review
  • Provide regular financial reporting, cost review, and contract audit participation
  • Oversee procurement strategies including RFQs, vendor selection, and materials management
  • Maintain and evolve Blackeagle's Contract Administration Plan and document management
  • Support and embody the company's mission and core values, contributing positively to the team and overall workplace culture.
  • Lead by example in upholding the company's safety program, ensuring employees are compliant with all safety standards, protocols, and regulations.
  • Take ownership of team performance, addressing issues proactively and creating solutions that support productivity and morale.
  • Support employee development through regular feedback, goal setting, and performance evaluations aligned with company objectives.
  • Execute additional responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of industry experience, with 5+ in project leadership roles
  • Proven experience in pipeline, facilities, or renewable energy construction
  • Deep understanding of estimating, scheduling, subcontract management, and contract negotiation
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Vista, P6, B2W Track/Estimate
  • Thorough knowledge of permitting, OSHA, DOT, and environmental requirements
  • Demonstrated experience building and leading high-performing teams
  • Exceptional communication, mentoring, and leadership presence
  • Clean driving record and willingness to travel between regional sites as required
  • Ability to sit at a desk and use a computer for extended periods of time
  • Ability to operate a computer, keyboard, mouse, phone, and other standard office equipment
  • Ability to lift and carry items such as files, boxes, or office supplies (typically up to 20 lbs)
  • Must be able to wear and operate the required personal protective equipment (PPE), such as hard hats, safety glasses, and gloves

Pay Range: $125,000 - $150,000 per year
