About Us:

As the Actuator and Controls Sustaining Lead Engineer, you will lead a team dedicated to sustaining and enhancing our actuator and control product offerings.
Position Overview:
In this role, you will manage a multi-discipline engineering team responsible for researching and developing technologies to improve product performance, addressing production issues, supporting sales opportunities, and collaborating with clients on critical field issues. This position offers broad visibility and significant potential for advancement within the Bray organization.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the engineering efforts and projects for Bray's family of Electrical Actuators, a product line that is critical to the success of Bray.
  • Manage a multi-discipline team to develop product enhancements and new features. Some team members may be in other parts of the world.
  • Collaborate with production, sales, and product management to identify projects for the team.
  • Lead reviews and Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEAs) to ensure product reliability.
  • Direct the investigation of field issues.
  • Guide your team in performing the following functions:
    • 3D modeling of actuator and control system components, tools, and accessories.
    • Develop new electrical and circuit designs, including designing, testing, and validating new PCB assemblies.
    • Design and assemble prototypes based on design concepts.
    • Conduct feasibility and characterization testing on prototypes and final products.
    • Generate accurate drawings, bills of materials, work instructions, and engineering release notices.
    • Interface with manufacturing and other engineering sites to complete design work.
    • Provide application information to sales and customers and address technical inquiries.
    • Review and interpret customer and industry specifications to integrate them into valve design packages.
    • Support manufacturing in the disposition of non-conforming materials and assemblies.
    • Collaborate with the Service team for product performance evaluations.

Qualifications and Core Competencies:
  • Education: B.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong technical writing capabilities.
  • Basic knowledge of Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling software (SolidWorks preferred) and PCB design (Altium preferred).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong self-organization, planning, and reporting skills.
