Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective teamwork help you excel in optimizing product performance and collaborating across departments. These skills are crucial for ensuring products meet rigorous performance standards and deliver reliable results in competitive markets.

What is the difference between Performance Engineered Products vs Mechanical Engineer?

AspectPerformance Engineered ProductsMechanical Engineer
CredentialsEngineering degrees, certifications in product design and testingEngineering degrees, professional licensure often required
Work EnvironmentProduct development, testing labs, manufacturing settingsDesign offices, manufacturing plants, R&D labs
Industry UsageManufacturing, aerospace, automotive, consumer productsVarious industries including automotive, aerospace, energy
Primary FocusDesigning and optimizing engineered products for performanceDesigning mechanical systems and components

Performance Engineered Products specialists focus on creating and optimizing products for maximum performance, often working closely with testing and manufacturing teams. Mechanical Engineers have a broader scope, designing mechanical systems across various industries. While both roles require engineering credentials, Performance Engineered Products roles emphasize product testing and performance optimization.

What are Performance Engineered Products?

Performance Engineered Products (PEPs) are specialized components or systems designed to meet high standards of functionality, durability, and efficiency in demanding applications. These products are often custom-engineered to address specific industry requirements, such as those in automotive, aerospace, medical, or industrial sectors. The aim of PEPs is to optimize performance, reduce costs, and increase reliability compared to standard, off-the-shelf solutions. They may include seals, gaskets, molded parts, or other precision-engineered items tailored for unique operational environments.

Job Summary
We are seeking a forward-thinking Senior Test Manager to lead our performance testing and quality engineering strategy across Salesforce, MuleSoft, APIs, and integrated enterprise platforms. This role requires deep expertise in performance engineering, load and scalability testing, API and integration validation, and AI-augmented test practices. The ideal candidate will help modernize quality through continuous performance testing, observability-driven insights, intelligent test design, and strong partnership with Engineering, Product, DevOps, and Architecture teams to ensure resilient, scalable, and business-critical releases.
Position Overview
We are seeking a forward-thinking Senior Test Manager to lead our performance testing and quality engineering strategy across Salesforce, MuleSoft, APIs, and integrated enterprise platforms. This role requires deep expertise in performance engineering, load and scalability testing, API and integration validation, and AI-augmented test practices. The ideal candidate will help modernize quality through continuous performance testing, observability-driven insights, intelligent test design, and strong partnership with Engineering, Product, DevOps, and Architecture teams to ensure resilient, scalable, and business-critical releases.
Key Responsibilities
Performance Engineering Strategy
  • Define and execute an enterprise performance testing strategy covering Salesforce, MuleSoft, APIs, and integrated platforms, with clear non-functional requirements, SLAs, and release performance gates.

  • Lead continuous performance engineering practices including load, stress, endurance, spike, and scalability testing across business-critical journeys.

  • Champion AI-enabled quality practices such as intelligent test design, anomaly detection, performance trend analysis, and AI-assisted failure summarization with human review.

  • Partner with Architecture, Product, Engineering, and DevOps to design for testability, resiliency, observability, and proactive performance risk management.

  • Define, baseline, and govern service-level objectives (SLOs) and performance thresholds for critical user journeys and integrations, and ensure they are measurable, monitored, and enforced through release criteria.

People Leadership & Capability Building
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team of performance, API, and quality engineers across multiple geographies and delivery partners.

  • Drive upskilling in Jmeter, K6, LoadRunner, API performance testing, Salesforce and MuleSoft validation, observability tooling, and AI-assisted engineering practices.

  • Build a culture of engineering excellence, accountability, experimentation, and continuous learning across performance and integration testing disciplines.

  • Promote reusable assets, standard frameworks, and playbooks for enterprise-scale non-functional and integration quality assurance.

Performance, API & Tooling Leadership
  • Own the performance tooling strategy using JMeter as a core platform, complemented by API testing and automation tools such as Postman, RestAssured, Playwright, and CI/CD-integrated frameworks.

  • Establish robust performance test coverage for APIs, MuleSoft integrations, Salesforce-connected transactions, and end-to-end cross-platform business flows.

  • Integrate performance and API test suites into delivery pipelines to enable continuous validation, early bottleneck detection, and release gating.

  • Leverage AI-enabled tooling for script acceleration, anomaly detection, root-cause investigation, test data support, and performance result summarization.

Execution, Analysis & Release Readiness
  • Lead planning and execution of load, stress, spike, endurance, failover, and scalability tests for customer-facing and system-to-system workflows.

  • Validate API behavior, throughput, latency, and resiliency across Salesforce, MuleSoft, and downstream platform integrations.

  • Analyze results using application and infrastructure telemetry, identify bottlenecks, correlate failure patterns, and drive remediation with engineering teams.

  • Provide clear performance risk assessments, release recommendations, and executive-ready summaries aligned to non-functional requirements and business impact.

Stakeholder Communication & Governance
  • Deliver concise executive readouts on performance health, scalability risks, release readiness, and remediation priorities.

  • Facilitate governance across QA, Engineering, DevOps, Architecture, and product teams to ensure non-functional requirements are measurable and enforced.

  • Translate technical findings into business impact, helping stakeholders make informed decisions on release timing, capacity, and platform readiness.

Qualifications
  • 10+ years in software testing and quality engineering, including strong leadership experience managing enterprise QA or performance engineering teams.

  • Must have deep experience in Salesforce testing across complex enterprise implementations and integrated business processes.

  • Strong hands-on experience in performance and load testing using JMeter, including test design for APIs, integrations, scalability, endurance, and peak-load validation.

  • Proven expertise in MuleSoft, API testing, and validation of integrations with external enterprise platforms and downstream systems.

  • Experience embedding performance and API validation into CI/CD pipelines and using telemetry or observability data to identify bottlenecks and drive resolution.

  • Hands-on experience designing and maintaining performance testing pipelines in CI/CD environments, including automated execution, threshold-based quality gates, reporting, and trend analysis.

  • Strong communication and executive presence, with the ability to convert technical findings into clear business risk and release recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with AI-augmented testing tools or copilots for script generation, anomaly detection, failure triage, and performance result summarization.

  • Familiarity with observability and monitoring platforms such as Dynatrace, Splunk, Datadog, AppDynamics, Grafana, or similar tools for root-cause analysis.

  • Experience with API-first quality practices such as contract testing, service virtualization, and shift-left validation in distributed architectures.

  • Background in regulated or high-availability enterprise environments where scalability, reliability, and auditability are critical.

  • Certifications or advanced knowledge in performance testing, Salesforce, MuleSoft, cloud platforms, or modern quality engineering practices.

Tools & Environment
Salesforce (Sales/Service Cloud), MuleSoft, JMeter, K6, LoadRunner, Karate, Postman, RestAssured, Playwright, CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Copado, Azure DevOps), observability platforms (Dynatrace, Splunk, Datadog, Grafana, AppDynamics), API and telemetry analysis tools, and AI-enabled QA assistants.
