Job Title
New Product Engineer II
As the New Product Engineer, you will manage the transition of products from design/R&D to volume manufacturing, ensuring quality, cost-efficiency, and functionality. Key duties include optimizing production processes, designing tooling/fixtures, creating work instructions, conducting validation tests (PFMEA, DFX), and bridging communication between design and production teams.
Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Ensure product quality and reliability through testing, troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration across R&D, operations, and supply chain.
  • Lead design-for-manufacturability, process development, and validation to ensure efficient, scalable production.
  • Drive production ramp-up, including establishing workflows, tooling, documentation, and manufacturing lines.
  • Product costing & technical review for Repeat items, Revision change, and new item with similar design (NPI levels 1-3). Support for new items with new design that fit existing capabilities (NPI 4).
  • Develop and review customer approval drawings including design for manufacturability for new design concepts.
  • Support commercial customer interactions related to NPI and continued product development.
  • Support and manage prototyping efforts including hands on creation and evaluation of product and production processes.
  • Set up and update BOM and routings. Validate and maintain BOM and routings to production hand off.
  • May develop, review or consult on tooling design.
  • May assist with CAD/CAM tool path set up or update and identify improvement opportunities.
  • May lead or support projects such as Scrap and Productivity, EHS, New Product Introduction, and Escalations.
  • Manage Change Control through development cycle to production hand off.
  • Support operators and gather production feedback to improve and develop processes where applicable.
  • May utilize process control systems (PCS) and Statistical Process Controls (SPC) to effectively maintain and improve product and process quality.
  • May support cost controls and develop tools such as dashboards.
  • Build subject matter expertise on processing techniques and materials.
  • May judge and handle suspect or abnormal product/process.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to lower-level engineers, programmers, tooling engineers.

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical preferred.
  • 4+ year's of experience in manufacturing engineering and product development.

Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Proficient in SolidWorks, 3D modeling, statistical data analysis, and Project Management tools.
  • Experience with CNC machining preferred including CAM packages such as Mastercam.
  • Strong project management, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
  • General understanding of materials and characteristics including material formulations and shrink rates for manufacturing product lines.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, machining techniques, and associated tooling/fixture design.
  • Ability to recognize others meaningfully and frequently, uses feedback to build confidence and respect, adapts communication to workplace styles, and actively participates in team-building activities.
  • Ability to communicate using empathy, influence, and an adaptive approach to accurately and persuasively create dialogue.

Target Hiring Range
Annual Salary: USD 92,000.00 - USD 121,440.00
