Custom Concrete Co., Inc. is seeking an experienced, highly skilled Crew Leader to oversee the day‑to‑day operations of our commercial and multifamily construction projects. This is a working foreman position, actively involved in the field while providing leadership, coordination, and direction to layout techs, finishers, and laborers. Crew Leaders ensure projects are completed safely, accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with our industry‑leading quality standards.

About the Role

As a Crew Leader, you will take ownership of your job sites—coordinating manpower, communicating with general contractors, executing concrete placement and finishing activities, and ensuring your team produces work that meets or exceeds project expectations. You will read and interpret plans, manage workflow, and guide your crew to successful and timely project completions.

This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to juggle logistics, deadlines, and quality control while maintaining a safe and professional work environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Project Coordination
  • Run the daily operations of commercial and multifamily concrete job sites, ensuring seamless execution from start to finish.
  • Plan and coordinate project phases by reviewing blueprints, specifications, schedules, manpower needs, and material requirements.
  • Lead, mentor, and support layout technicians, finishers, and laborers—ensuring clear direction, accountability, and high‑quality work.
  • Communicate proactively with general contractors, subcontractors, and material suppliers to maintain alignment on expectations, progress, and changes.
  • Maintain a productive job‑site culture that emphasizes teamwork, professionalism, and consistent performance.
Technical & Field Responsibilities
  • Interpret and execute concrete construction plans, elevations, layouts, and specifications with accuracy.
  • Oversee layout, forming, placement, finishing, and curing activities; ensure all measurements, elevations, and tolerances meet requirements.
  • Verify work completed by the crew, including squareness, plumb, grade, thickness, and finish quality.
  • Identify field issues (access challenges, soil conditions, safety hazards, scheduling conflicts) and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Work hands‑on as needed—operating finishing equipment, screeding, forming, or performing layout.
Safety, Quality, and Organization
  • Ensure job sites adhere to all company safety policies and OSHA guidelines, promoting a culture of proactive hazard recognition.
  • Conduct daily assessments to maintain cleanliness, proper tool storage, and hazard elimination.
  • Monitor equipment use and coordinate proper care, maintenance, and security of company property.
