Job description

Job title: Percussion Tutor.
Location: Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, NY 11024, United States.
Job Type: Part time.
Qualifications:
  • 2 years of professional experience in music education teaching high school or college and performances in teaching Percussion instruments such as snare rudiments, timpani, drumkit, and auxiliary percussion instruments.
  • Experience with marching, concert and auxiliary percussion, and drumkit also required.

Duties:
  • Conduct small group lessons focusing on ensemble playing, intonation, balance, blend, and stylistic accuracy.
  • Prepare students for performances.
  • Monitor and assess each student's progress, providing constructive feedback and adjustments to the lesson plans as needed.
  • Encourage and facilitate group practice sessions.
  • Maintain accurate records of each student's progress and attendance.
  • Communicate regularly with students and the Music Director regarding student progress, upcoming performances, and other relevant matters.
