CDC/Sous Chef
A natural born leader that is hungry to prove themselves and help lead a team {with the Exec Chef} to excellence. Previous experience as a Sous of Lead Line Cook.

Areas of ownership include:

  • Assist in overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen
  • Training and educating staff on food preparation and cooking methods
  • Passion for fermentation is a plus
  • Understanding food cost and menu mix
  • Team Player

Qualifications (Includes equipment knowledge/use):
  • 1-2 years as a Sous Chef and/or Lead Cook in a high volume - full service restaurant. Experience opening a restaurant is a huge plus.
  • Knowledge of food health and safety regulations
  • Knowledge of menu and resource planning
  • Excellent customer service skills and strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate proper knife handling skills and other kitchen equipment safety
  • Knowledge of a wide range of recipes and cooking techniques
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed
  • Must possess a Food Handler Safety Card
  • Possess the physical and mental stamina to work for extended periods of time
  • Physically able to lift and carry heavy trays and equipment as well as delicate china and glassware up to 50 lbs
  • Physically able to walk without assistance on various surfaces for an extended period of time

The crown jewel and the heartbeat of this tiny dusty town is the Jacumba Hot Springs Hotel.
A newly renovated boutique hotel in the middle of nowhereone hour east of downtown San Diego. The hotel has been designed with a sense of place, natural materials, textures, and objects from ancient and primitive cultures from all over the world.
22 artisan rooms, 2 outdoor mineral hot spring pools, indoor hot spring tub, exotic desert hideaway bar, restaurant with lava rock walls, vintage ceramic lights and outdoor patios under a canopy of old-world lanterns, a live music stage, and multi-friend cabanas with cast iron fire pits.
